Romans 2:1-16

This chunk of scripture is about the judgment of sin. The verse that hit me in the face with a brick was 2:13 it reads, “for merely listening to the law doesn’t make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight.” It also mentions earlier in the chunk that we are judged according to what we have done. (2:6) I think that these can be tied together very easily. God’s word tell us to do something or how we should live, and if we don’t do it, we are judged according to what we have done for him, which would be nothing for alot of people. When i say they have done nothing, I am not meaning they sat on a couch eating potato chips playing their xbox, I am saying they haven’t don’t anything FOR HIM. when we don’t do anything for him, we aren’t doing what the bible says, so there for we are sinning. I think the main way to apply this to my life is that there is SO MUCH MORE to following him than not doing stuff that we declare bad or just not doing the negative stuff in our lives, it is more than being neutral and staying out of it, it is about being positive and going above and beyond doing nothing. If you think about it in a literal sense, would you consider a person that doesn’t hurt you in anyway, but also doesn’t make any effort to make you happy or have any effect on your life a friend? would you consider that acquaintance to be in a relationship with you if he just doesn’t do anything to effect your life?

That has a lot of James to it (James 4:17). I really like your analogy at the end. We have got to take action. Good stuff.
